Does anyone at all use basic code anymore? I recently took the time to learn it as I knew it was one of the first codes and found its relatively simple to use and easy to learn. There is a lot of math and algebra involved which adds a challenge, I made a few simple games and designs for the fun of it. |

Well, it's not really used anymore. It's mostly used now for learning purposes. |

When I was young I did all kinds of programming on Basic. On the TSR-80, the Apple II. I used to get books that had basic programs in them, including games and such and you would have to type them into the computer to play them.
Along the way things migrated to Visual Basic, and I guess that still is the basic standard. _________________ Programmers do it in code |

Most of the programmers working with Microsoft technologies use Visual Basic 6 or VB.NET today. |

Nope, never tried it myself and dont plan to
Although it would be great to know, I see little point in learning it if you dont already know it.
Most people under 30 years old and into programming probably have never used BASIC. |

I used to dabble with it a little, and still visit a few sites. There is now FreeBASIC (www.freebasic.net) which has brought BASIC up to scratch and made it suitable for modern programs to be written using the simple BASIC language. |
