I've just started working with asp (not asp.net) and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on development tools (ie. intradev, visual studio etc) I'll be working mostly with vbscript. I downloaded MS Visual Web Developer 2005 beta, but it does not support vbscript. I'mthinking that I'll be getting my feet wet with asp and after I become familiar with programing in general, then I would like to start to looking into vb.net. Thanks in advance for you input.

new2dev.

I also thought it was interesting that this is a asp development site...and it's driven by php!.....kinda odd isn't it?

Very Happy

I prefer InterDev 6.0 for ASP development.

PHP is very similar to ASP and I don't think it matters what technology are we using as long as it does the job Smile.

If you are just beginning web development using ASP then I would suggest that you stop and start by picking up with .NET

There is limited value in learning old technology when you are just starting out.

I agree. Go with .NET directly.

I too think that ASP.NET and .NET is better then the old ASP, however it doesn't hurt to know both.
