Did you try to debug the application. How exactly do you convert the excel file to XML?

Ok - here's a quick and dirty way to convert excel to XML - I apologize in advance if this sounds like a commercial but i'm trying to be helpful here. Using something called Stylus Studio, you can load your XML file. If you click on the "Grid" tab - then you'll see a spreadsheet view of the XML. You can then just select the colums of data that you need, copy to clipboard, then paste it right into Microsoft Excel.
