Has anyone used GoDaddy's Windows hosting?
They have some very cheap plans - from $3.99/month - but Im wondering how basic these are.
Does anyone have experience with this? |

I'm not sure if they support ASP.NET at all. At least it's not listed in their spec page.

I have found go daddy to be the minimalist hosting. If you want to do anything beyond very basic template type hosting, they are not a good choice.
I love them as a domain name seller, just not a fan of their hosting products. |

Yes, they are OK for domains, but for hosting look elsewhere.

I thought so. Yes they do offer ASP.Net I believe (maybe not on the $3 plan?)
I have used their Llinux hosting in the past, I didnt like the control panel.
I guess I wont use them for windows hosting either.
Thanks guys |

I have heard people talk about performance issues with their hosting so I would not recommend them even though I have not used them myself.
Plus if you have your domains registered with them, it is a good idea to keep your domains and hosting seperate. If you get into a conflict and they have total control of everything it makes it much harder for your to re-establish your sites. _________________ I shine |

Yes, it's better to keep hosting and domain registrar seperate. |

I have a godaddy hosting account. It was very cheap when I went to register the domain and I decided to try it out. It has been fine so far. Not sure if they have ASP service or not though.
I have not had any issues, like I said, and it was dirt cheap. |

I have used them to host some simple asp.net based sites for me (non-db) and they were very fast with no downtime.
They are a huge company and therefore can afford to keep good customer service, support and servers.
I recommend them for small scale websites. |

Yup and like I mentioned they often have very good deals. So you can get domains for cheap or hosting for cheap. There always seem to be some special deal going on with GoDaddy though. |

BTW: Don't expect to get ASP.NET on the $3.95 plan. You have to go to the $6.95 plan. Still a pretty good deal though. |

I was sure there was a catch - no ASP.NET for the cheapest plan. Also to get the $3.95 price you have to pre-pay for several months I believe.
